From the CardMonkey Paper Jungle - Day 3: Welcome New Baby

Hello again to the fans of Crafty Card Gallery!

My name is Ellen (a.k.a., CardMonkey) and I have been given the honor of Guest Hosting Jennifer's Crafty Card Galley for the week.  This is my third posting ... if you missed my cards earlier this week, simple enough -- scroll down to view them.

I've made a slew of cards -- my favorite thing to do -- which I'll be featuring in no particular order this week.  If you have questions about techniques, papers, etc., do feel free to hop on over to my blog at www.cardmonkey-business.blogspot.com, where I will be giving more of the nitty gritty on each.

Today, how about a peek at a Welcome New Baby (boy) card that I made for a colleague.

I love the digi-images from Pollycraft in the UK.  You can find them by clicking HERE.  Have you used digi-images instead of rubber stamps, yet?

I really like using digi-stamps because you can resize them to suit your layout.  In this case, I wanted the infant on the moon to be large enough to encircle the biggest part of my skyscape paper. I colored using a combination of Prisma pencils and Copic markers.  I cut the hole in the front of the card using my Spellbinders Large Circles die, and mounted the colored image on the piece of the sky that I cut from the cardstock.  By gluing a piece of ribbon sandwiched from the top to the bottom of the colored image, and mounting it in between front/back papers, the moon hangs/swings freely.

Here's the inside of the card, with a stamped sentiment:

When I stopped to link this photo for the posting, I came across a lot of the digi-images I've purchased and still haven't used. This looks like I know what I'll be doing this afternoon ... more coloring!  Love it!
