Welcome to the New Year's Thank You card blog hop - Sunday!
Hi! Welcome to day 3 of the New Years Thank You Card Blog Hop! Glad you're joining us. If you're back for day 3 of the hop, you can skip down to the card image..
If today is your first day in the hop, be sure to read this post and the other two thank you card posts below that (for my other cards)...
If you got lots of presents for Christmas that you need to write Thank you's for, here's a great place to get some ideas. I know I have quite a few to do...
This is the first stop in the blog hop. There are a total of 35 blogs participating, so grab your favorite drink (an iced skinny cinnamon dolce latte for me) and sit back and enjoy the hop. I did a quick peak on Friday to check all the links - and liked what I saw - but I am hoping to sit down on New Years Day & hop through them all... You'll want to be sure to come back again on Sunday, since some of the participants will be posting multiple cards over the course of the weekend!
If you're new to my blog, be sure to become a follower. Crafty Card Gallery is an iPhone app (works on iPad & iPod Touch) that is a card gallery for handmade cards. You can follow great designers, and look for ideas. It's a great app, and will be coming soon to Android Phones... (probably early January)
You can get it from the iTunes App Store here
On to the card....
So I was feeling sort of lazy and wanted to do a quick card, since I'd already spent a lot of time on the other two cards, and I thought that a lot of people want easy cards if they have to mass produce them.
This card took less than 1/2 hour (would have taken less time if I'd measured it first and if I hadn't kept losing my snowflake). Something about glitter snowflakes in my house - they like to disappear. I had to clean up my workspace to find it (that was a good portion of the 1/2 hour).
It only took a few minutes to design on my gypsy - I used www.Cricutsearch.com to find a Thank you that I liked - on Lyrical Letters. I haven't used this cartridge too much so I was happy to find an opportunity to use it. I found the snowflake & the tag on Winter Frolic (the old fashioned way, looking at my gypsy) since I didn't have something specific I was looking for.
I found the pattern for the card fold on Scor Pal's website - http://www.scor-pal.com/projects/Accordion%20Fold%20Card.pdf
They have great projects on there...
The paper is bo-bunny (from the same line as the two days before - can you tell I really like it?) with glitter paper for the snowflake & thank you. I layered the two pieces of paper for the background of the thank you (I don't know what that shape is called) and then used a white gel pen to highlight it. I backed the snowflake with blue paper (since the UPC code was on the back) and used some gems (I love gems & glitter paper, if you haven't figured it out). I tied it up with a ribbon that matches the paper. I didn't do a bow since I think of the tie as more of a way to keep it together.
I think for a quick card it came out pretty nice. It is a little small, so I don't think it would work well for a long thank you - but for a quick, short note, it would be great.
Here are a couple of photos of the card....
