Summer Blog Hop, 5/21 - 5/22, Day 2

Welcome to the Summer Blog Hop!  If you were just looking at my blog and want to hop along, you're at the start!  This blog hop is intended to help you get in the mood for summer!  Yesterday was a great day; nice and sunny, today is a little gloomier looking... So maybe take your computer outside, if you can, and enjoy the weather and all the inspiration you're going to get!  There are 23 other very talented designers that you'll be visiting!

So without further ado; here's my card...

It's a graduation card for my nephew - so proud of him!  He's very artistically inclined; so hopefully he'll like the card...The colors are his school colors.  I got the fold directions from http://www.scor-pal.com/feb_magazine/index_files/Page406.htm
The colors are his school colors (I wouldn't normally use orange & green together!)  I used my cuttlebug to emboss the green paper; and the stickers were from a pack from JoAnn.  I was lucky enough to find some free space on my scrap & easel to take a photo.. the room has gotten messy again!

I definitely think of graduations as summery!  If you didn't hop by yesterday, be sure to scroll down to see my flip flop card!

Ok, so I have some news for you...
I will be hosting a contest; my first one....  So hopefully I have thought through all the bugs.
Here are the details... If I've missed something mention it in your comments and I'll address it...
1) Create a card or layout - theme is celebrating someone you love
(can be animal).
2) You have a little over a week to create and post on your blog post and on this one via inlinkz on my page.  This will be enabled at the top of the page.  If you don't have a blog you can still post a picture.  Card must be posted by 5/31
3) If you use product from or mention any of the following in your post, you get one extra vote each:
Crafty Card Gallery App - a great way to get inspiration on the go!
http://www.mycutsearch.com/ - a great way to search for cuts on your Cricut (formerly known as Cricut Search
http://acraftershaven.net/ - great online scrapbook/craft store
http://www.cricutcartridgestorage.com/scrapneasel.htm - my favorite new tool - easel for your layouts

4) On 6/1, voting begins.  You have until 6/10 12 PM, PST to solicit votes... There will be a post with more details on that.
5) 6/11 winner will be announced.  It will be the person with the most votes.  In the event of a tie, winner will be selected randomly from top vote getters.
6) Winner will get a gift card to Crafters' Haven, a copy of the Crafty Card Gallery App, and a copy of the Bite Size Body Guide diet journal.  Total retail value almost $40!

I am also going to be in a new vintage design team; http://vintageheartfeltdesigns.blogspot.com/; stay tuned for some great stuff in June!

New update was just released - over 530 cards, and growing every month!

So of course I have some prizes; I didn't get around to 500 follower prizes either, so there are a few extra this time...

  4. Love this card! I was thinking I did not know anyone graduating this year and then I was reminded that my "niece" was graduating - some of our good friends whom we don't see nearly often enough any more - our kids called them aunt and uncle and vice versa. so now I need to make a card and want to make a mini album - guess I better hurry with this hop :)
